Advent 2025, Day 6
Day 6, December 5, 2025
Theme: Hope
Readings:
Reflections:
Okay, this week has been a deep dive into Isaiah's visions of the HOPE we have in Jesus. Take your time with each sentence of today's passage in Isaiah. See how all the needs are met? The deaf get to hear, the blind get to see... YES!! No more fussing or fighting, no more injustice? Whoa! Take time to envision this reality, and to pray for it to come. Let's pray for more heaven on earth, and less hell, injustice, and evil.
What Isaiah predicts, Jesus grows up hearing at the synagogue, and then he gets to fulfill! How much fun was that? I wonder how proud Jesus as he fulfilled the scriptures after being formed by them? To actually fulfill what was so admired in his culture and in Holy scripture? What a thought!
As it relates to today’s passage, Jesus must have loved healing. And dignifying the poor, needy, lonely or abandoned, and sick. It’s all over Isaiah’s prophecies. I bet that's why he became so incensed when leaders put foolish obstacles in the way of healing on the Sabbath.
In Matthew, we see the hope Jesus provides. He heals and restores people. Every healing is a window into hope! And Jesus did a lot of healing. What has Jesus healed in you? What pops into your mind immediately? Write those healings down. Those are fuel for your Hope! Consider sharing a story of Jesus healing you with another person.

Bonus! My Advent 2025 playlist is ready for you to listen to on Apple Music. It's diverse, and it was so much fun to put together as I read through the scriptures and wrote this series.
NOTE the songs are on Apple Music, which you can get for a month for free if you are new... I just didn't want an obnoxious YouTube Ad ruining your quiet time :-)
